How Do You Remove Your ADT Motion Sensor From Wall?

Luckily, the procedure for removing an ADT motion sensor is not a hassle task. The additional equipment you need is a blow dryer, acetone, and a screwdriver. Do you already have one? Then why are we waiting for? Without wasting more time let’s get into the procedure. For easier understanding, we’re providing the procedure with some simple steps.

By Removing the Adhesive Part

If you want to remove the entire unit then this method is more effective. Follow the steps as instructed –

Step 1: Both blow dryer and acetone are efficient for diminishing the silicone adhesiveness of the sensor’s sticky part. Apply any of them according to your choice.

Step 2:  For the blow dryer, make sure that every sticky part is heated up in a way that the part loses its adhesiveness properly. After a certain time, getting proper heat, the stickiness got diminished and makes the sensor easy to remove.

Step 3: For acetone, make sure to use a proper amount so that it doesn’t hamper the device or paint on the wall.

Step 4: After removing the sticky, pull the sensor off the wall, then use the screwdriver to remove the wires and place them back in the wall. It’ll be better to insulate the open ends of the wires.

NOTE:

  1. Some use a knife to get rid of the adhesive, but we don’t recommend it as a simple mistake can cause damage to the device or wiring.
  2. With this procedure, you can remove the wireless motion sensor too. The only difference is you don’t have to take those steps that are relevant to the wired section.

By Simply Removing the Sensor Part

Here, you only need the screwdriver. So, grab the screwdriver and –

Step 1: Unscrew the sensor’s bottom screw.

Step 2: Next, take off the protection of the sensor.

Step 3: Then pull out the battery.

Step 4: After that, press the screwdriver into the slot underneath at the middle portion and hold.

Step 5: Finally, while holding the slot, pull the sensor softly downwards and let it get off the bracket.  That’s it!

Conclusion

As you can see, there’s nothing so difficult in removing the ADT motion sensor from the wall. If you successfully follow the steps mentioned above, there won’t be anything to worry about. So, do accordingly and let us know if you find this post useful.
